At Corby Rock we believe that calf rearing is one of the most important areas on both dairy and beef enterprises. Attention to detail in calf rearing is of critical importance to ensure the sustainability of farms across the country. Healthy calves are the life and soul of any farm and represent a considerable investment on farms. This is why you should never compromise quality when it comes to ruminant feed.
The first 12 weeks of the calves’ life are critical in terms of subsequent development. Of the 4 main feed components, water, milk, forage and concentrate, worldwide research has shown that the latter is the main driving force in preparing the young milk fed calf to becoming a young ruminating animal thriving on forage and concentrate. Therefore at Corby Rock we believe it is vitally important to get calves off to a flying start by choosing the right concentrate to feed the calf and by adopting the correct calf husbandry practices irrespective of calf rearing system employed on the farm.
Calves need to gain weight during and post weaning to reach their target weights throughout the different stages of their life. It is vitally important to ensure optimum rumen development and growth at the calf stage, which in turn will yield significant long term benefits
The ingredients used in Corby Rocks Calf range are carefully selected and balanced to ensure that the calf will have a healthy rumen and continue to develop successfully. All of our Calf feeds are high cereal based rations and incorporate top spec mineral and vitamin additives.
We do not include palm kernel, pollard or sunflower in any of our calf feeds above.
